Hilt consisting of round-section iron bars with double knob decor, down-curved quillon, thumb ring, and single side ring with inserted brass plate embossed with floral decor. Knucklebow and side bar attached to the brass lionhead pommel. Wood grip with turks heads and remnants of original twisted brass wire wrap. Broad curved 31 ½" single-edged blade with long single to double fullers and hatchet point (scattered light pitting and shallow edge nicks). Good quality officer’s sabre, untouched since its period of use. Overall length 37 1/4".
