Please be patient for photos to load

Three stage 12 3/4" round .60 cal. barrel, chiseled with geometric
designs, crescent, and stands of arms, all heavily gilt. Unsigned lockplate
with chiseled and gilt crescent and stands of arms. Cock, frizzen and top
jaws chiseled and gilt to match. Silver gilt trigger guard, pommel, barrel
band, ramrod thimbles, and escutcheon exquisitely cast in relief with stands
of arms and a knight’s head on the pommel. Burl walnut fullstock completely
covered with fine silver wire floral decoration. Wood ramrods with ivory
tips (one tip missing). Overall length 19 1/2". This magnificent set made at the height of French
imperial power, undoubtedly for an Eastern potentate. It is of incredible
workmanship and condition overall, retaining 95% plus original gilt and
finish with only negligible silver losses. Hard to top the quality and
condition of this pair even in the world’s finest museums. One top jaw and
screw excellent exact copies of the originals. Photographs cannot do this
pair justice.
