Description

Featuring brass hilt with P-shaped guard, half langets, and rear scrolled quillon. Dove-
head shaped pommel with integral backstrap and “ears” riveted to the shagreen-covered
grip with double strands of twisted brass wire and base ferrule. Slender 33 1/4″ slightly
curved single-edged blade with single 3/4-length fuller, etched over its upper half with
foliage and stands of arms. Seated lion maker’s mark on ricasso and upper half of the
blade spine etched with acanthus.. Nickel-plated steel scabbard with brass throat and
drag and twin carry rings, one brass and the other nickel-plated. Sword near excellent,
the bright blade with sharp and clear etching, grip near perfect, and golden brown patina
to the brass. Scabbard very good with one small dent near the drag and a couple tiny
spots with plating scuffed. Overall length 38″, not including scabbard. See “Europaische
