Description

Featuring straight nickel-plated single-edged blade, deeply etched with hunting scenes of
foliage and deer on one side and a charging boar on the other. Maker’s name “M.
NEUMANN, HOFLIEFERANT BERLIN” bordered with foliage deeply etched on the spine
(Max Neumann, active in Berlin from 1890-1911). Guard of gilded brass with vertically
recurved quillons and stag in relief on the quillon block. One-piece stag grip with
decorative gilt brass pommel cap and base ferrule. Some loss to nickel plating and bleed-
through corrosion. Overall length 21 3/4″.
