Description

One-piece skull formed in six segments, each separated by ribbed dividers, with disk and
hanging ring at the top center; inside of skull with painted inventory mark “773″. “Lobster
tail” neck protection formed of 4 articulated lames. Riveted visor with adjustable sliding
nasal bar with double stamped mark and secured by heart-shaped wing nut; visor stamped
with maker’s mark “T” on top and the underside chiseled with assembly or inventory
markings. Original cheek pieces secured by riveted leather straps. Outside metal surfaces
lightly pitted and cleaned bright, the inside blackened. Some rivets and leather replaced,
as typically found. Typical munitions grade helmet used by cavalry troops throughout the
Thirty Years War and English Civil War.
