Description

Used throughout the French and Indian Wars and American Revolution, known as a
“narrow waisted” axe, these were used by British and Colonial soldiers as well as
Indians. Early eared fighting head with a slight taper, 8 ½” long, retaining its original
sharp edge. Old hickory haft, but likely not the original. Overall length 14 3/4″. A
weapon of choice among the Iroquois tribes. From the John Baldwin collection and
pictured in Who’s Who In Indian Relics, Vol. No. 10, p.191. An extremely rare early
