Description
Featuring cast brass hilt, comprising single reverse scroll quillon, pas d’ane attached to the bilobate shell guard, and knuckle bow attached to the spherical pommel; decorated ensuite with raised stands of arms and military trophies. Grip wrapped with sigle-strand copper wire and finished with Turks heads top and bottom. Slender 29 5/8” blade of hexagonal section with long lens-section ricasso, decorated with engraved scroll work and line border. Blade with scattered small areas of light pitting, the point rounded. Hilt cleaned at some point, with traces of brass polish in recessed areas. Overall length 36”.
