Description
Featuring 8” long head of octagonal section with slender 5” down-curved spike and 1 1/4” square hammer head face; the round ferrule with incised line decoration. Mounted on hand-hewn 35” round-section wood shaft, with iron caps on both ends and decorative langets reinforcing the shaft at the head. The shaft likely the original, with some checking and a few cracks apparently filled with epoxy near the base. Metal with scattered pitting and gunmetal gray patina.
