Description
Featuring 5” octagonal .58 caliber Damascus twist barrels signed “PEACOCK LONDON” (W. Peacock, active ca. 1820-1830, Duke Street, London), with fine scroll-engraved breech and tang; notch rear sights and bead front sights. Locks with flat scroll-engraved lockplates with sliding safeties, signed “PEACOCK”; engraved hammers and nipple bolsters. Walnut full stocks with checkered grips and steel mounts, including engraved trigger guard and tang and swivel ramrods; rectangular silver wrist escutcheon engraved with a heron above the script initials “AM”. In compartmented felt-lined oak case with bullet mold, screwdriver, percussion cap tin, and fluted brass powder flask; the lid with vacant brass escutcheon and retailer’s label; original key. Case measures 13 3/4” by 9 1/2” by 2 1/4”; pistols 9 1/4” overall length. In generally fine condition overall, with minor handling marks; the case with several scratches on the lid.
