German Parade Halberd, 19th C

Description

Concave axe blade, long sweeping down-curved back beak, and 12″ diamond-section
spike with baluster base. The head pierced and engraved with birds heads, monsters,
and hatched border. Conical socket with integral side straps. Mounted on later octagonal
wood shaft. Metal pitted overall. Length of metal 31 5/8″, overall 83″. Very attractive
display halberd.
