Unsigned oil-on-canvas painting of Thirty Years War era cavalry battle in landscape
setting depicting two riders in period dress engaging with swords held high with dismounted
rider attempting to snatch the reins of one rider. In the background are other riders, some
in armor and others with plumed cavalier style hats engaging with swords, pistols, and
carbines. Several riders lying on the ground as casualties. Very good quality and condition
and mounted in later gilt frame. Canvas size 25 1/8″ x 15 ½”, framed 28″ x 18 ½”. Perfect
for an office or man cave of a serious collector.
