Description
Scarce maker Argentine Model 1909 Bolo machete with a single-edged 14 5/8″ blade
widening toward the point; the ricasso marked “E-A” with Argentine crest on one side and
“INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA J.C. SUAREZ Y CIA” in a circle on the other. Hilt features
recurved cross guard stamped with serial number “G03504″; riveted wood slab grips and
plain birds head pommel. Steel scabbard with frog stud stamped with matching serial
number. Very good condition; blade smooth with some light scratches and a few tiny edge
nicks; grips showing minor handling wear; scabbard with a couple very shallow dents and
some very light pitting. Overall length 19 3/4″, not including scabbard. These were used by
elite Argentine military troops in the jungle. Most were made in Germany by WKC, but this
is a scarce Argentine made example.
