Description
Rifled octagonal barrel of approximately .50 caliber, signed “LAZARI COMINAZ, with
dovetailed front and rear leaf sights. Unmarked flat lock plate, the cock with chiseled
acanthus design in relief. Fruitwood full stock carved with line-bordered panels and a
relief carved shell at the base of the ramrod channel. Steel mounts engraved with
matching acanthus design. Trigger guard nicely pierced and chiseled. Wood ramrod
with turned steel tip, likely the original, but later varnish. Barrel length 25 3/4″, overall 38
3/4”. Early rifle of very good quality and condition with barrel by a famous maker.
