Description
One-piece cast bronze axe head featuring 2 5/8″ convex cutting edge. The oval eye with a
molded half-moon extension on each end. Excavated condition, with minor encrustation
and green and brown patina. Overall length 5 1/8″ (130 mm), thickness 1″ (25 mm), weight
8.45 Ounces (239 g). Early axes such as this were important tools for everyday use and an
effective weapon in times of war.
