Description
Heavy one-piece cast bronze mace head featuring four equal-distant serrated flanges with
broad, shallower flanges in-between; solid round knob finial. Long faceted round socket
with raised baluster decoration. Excavated condition with pleasing green and brown patina
and minor encrustation inside the socket. Very early and effective percussion weapon.
Length 5 3/8″ (137 mm), width 2 3/4″ (70 mm), weight 26.3 ounces (746 g).
