Description
One-piece cast bronze head, featuring 1 13/16″ convex cutting edge; the reverse 1 15/16″
convex blade set at a right angle to the main blade. Tapering round socket with raised
circle decoration on both sides. Excavated condition with even green patina and minor
encrustation inside the socket. Length 4 5/8″ (117 mm), height 1 3/4″ (44 mm), thickness 1
15/16″ (49 mm), weight 11.9 ounces (337 g). The axe/adze combination would be very
effective as an agricultural tool, yet also effective as a weapon.
