Description
Hand forged broad 8″ leaf-shaped blade with medial ridge; long faceted conical ferrule.
Mounted on a fine period wood shaft, the upper quarter smooth with applied leather lattice
(losses), the remainder beautifully carved with raised spiral ribs alternating with rows of
raised dots. While this is a genuine carved shaft from its period of use, we do not believe it
was originally fitted with this spear head. Metal showing lamination, forging flaws, and dark
age patina. Length of metal 15 1/4″; overall 80″. Price includes shipping in the contiguous
USA, the cost of which has doubled since Covid!
