Description
Cast brass hilt featuring short straight quillons with down-turned lion head finials, pas d;ane
attached to bilobate shell guard pierced and decorated with foliage, spherical pommel with
button and quillon block decorated ensuite; grip with later leather covering and twisted
silver and single-strand copper wire wrap and silver Turks heads top and bottom. Earlier
slender 35 1/4” rapier blade of diamond-section with deeply stamped maker’s stamp on the
ricasso. Overall length 41 3/4″.
