Featuring brass hilt with stirrup guard and engraved double langets; lion head pommel with integral backstrap. Original leather grip with fine twisted brass wire wrap. Curved single-edged 28 3/4” (73 cm) blade with deep fuller at the back edge and double-edged for the last 7”. Blade finely engraved with sun, moon, and magnate profile bust. Original black leather scabbard with sheet brass drag, middle band, and throat with frog button; twin carry rings. Scabbard with red painted museum inventory mark. Blade smooth, with age staining; markings sharp and clear. Leather grip showing wear and use. Scabbard leather shows wear, but complete and supple. Overall length 33 3/4” (85.7 cm), not including scabbard.
