Description
Iron B-shaped guard with long rear scroll quillon; joining the dove-head pommel with small
rounded button and integral backstrap. Original wood grip with black leather wrap and a
ferrule at the base. Broad curved 25 ½” blade with wide 3/4-length single fuller and
hatchet point; the short ricasso stamped with maker’s name “ERNDI” a double-headed
eagle, and “W” over “AD”. Blade is generally smooth with some age staining, light grinding
marks, and several shallow edge nicks. Hilt is tight with some light pitting; grip wrap with
wear, flaking, and very minor losses near the ferrule. Overall length 30 3/4″. No scabbard.
