Blackened iron axe head with 4 3/4″ convex cutting edge with round eye, decorated on
both sides with gold Arabic inscription. Leather-covered 23 3/4″ wood shaft with brass
sleeves incised with pairs of spiral lines; each end with decorative brass end caps. A well-
balanced decorative battle axe of the era of the Siege of Vienna.
