Description
Chiseled steel hilt featuring rear quillon with scroll finial, pas d’ane connected to double
oval shell guards, pierced and chiseled with foliage and stands of arms; knucklebow
connected to the pierced ovoid pommel, decorated ensuite. Original grip wrapped with
copper bands and twisted iron wire; copper Turks heads top and bottom. Double-edged 32
3/4″ triangular-section hollow-ground colichemarde blade with etched foliate decoration
and line borders at the forte (worn). Overall length 39 3/8″.
