Description
Infantry broadsword with distinctive Venetian-style hilt, featuring downward-curved quillons
of hexagonal-section with scroll finials and decoratively chiseled quillon block with small
side ring. Large sail-shaped hand guard embossed with scalloped shell pattern and
screwed to the tapering faceted pommel with button finial. Wood grip with twisted iron
wire wrap and turks heads top and bottom. Double-edged 32″ blade of lens-section with a
copper-inlaid cross mark below the 5″ central fuller on each side (moderate pitting and
numerous shallow edge nicks). Overall length 38″.
