Description
Featuring nickel-plated iron P-guard with reverse scroll quillon pierced with two slots for
portapee, etc. Dove-head pommel with integral backstrap; black celluloid grip with two
sizes of twisted copper wire wrap and large steel base ferrule. Slightly curved 30 1/2″ (77.5
cm) single-edged blade with single fuler, deeply etched with Bavarian motto “In/Treue/Fest”
amid oak leaf decoration on both sides. Original red felt blade washer (worn). Nickel-plated
steel scabbard with two carry bands (one with ring, the other with strap slot). Retains about
75% gray nickel plate on hilt. The grip near excellent with no chips or cracks, wire tarnished.
Blade is a dull gray with a few small age or rust spots. Scabbard plating bright, with
handling marks, one tiny dent, and a few small spots where rust has broken through the
plating. Overall length 35 1/2″ (90 cm), not including scabbard.
