Description
Broad diamond-section 11-1/2” blade with wide central fuller pierced with geometric
shapes. Two narrow fullers either side of the central fuller. Guard with downturned
quillons, terminating in chiseled animal heads; single side ring chiseled with central ball
flanked by raised vertical borders. Spiral ebony grip bordered top and bottom with
decorative steel collars . Pommel engraved and pierced in heart designs ensuite with the
pierced decoration in the blade. Very good condition with lamination showing in blade.
Overall length 16-1/2”. Scarce high quality dagger, probably made for an officer of the
famous German and Swiss mercenaries and very well cared for.
