Description
Convex round steel shield with rolled edge; featuring 4 large hemispherical bosses with
rings on the reverse to hold the carrying handles (handles absent) and hand pad. The
entire surface is etched with floral patterns, wild animals, human figures, and towers, on a
blackened background and highlighted with gold koftgari. There is a separate riveted
geometric border inside the rolled edge. Very fine workmanship in near excellent condition,
with just a few small spots of rust. Diameter 17 ½”, weight 3 pounds 7 ounces (1571 g).
Makes a wonderful display.
