Description
A recent attic find from Vermont and fresh to the market, this 18th C spiked tomahawk
features a 7 7/8″ long slightly curved hand-forged iron head with 1 ½” convex cutting edge
and curved, tapering rectangular-section spike. It is mounted on what appears to be its
original 12″ hardwood haft with crude carved ring around the base. Metal with dark rust
patina, the edge having been re-ground; wood with rich dark brown patina. Probably
Iroquois Federation. Not from the Tom Richards Collection.
