Description
Heavy solid cast bronze, this ornament depicts a left-facing open-winged eagle atop a wreath encompassing a swastika. The ornament is attached to a black marble base with two bolts secured by nuts (covered by black felt). Overall height 7 5/8” (19.4 cm), width 6” (15.2 cm), weight over 6 pounds (2.7 kg). Nearly all these statues were destroyed during the de-nazification after the war, so that only those taken by Allied soldiers as trophies survive today.
