Description
Iron head featuring slightly curved rear spike of diamond-section with pairs of incised diagonal lines. Rectangular-section mounting block with dovetailed belt hook decorated ensuite. Octagonal-section hammer head with line border and pairs of incised diagonal lines on alternating surfaces. Solid cylindrical shaft with turned base; tapering octagonal wood grip with two-piece iron discs on each end. Nice solid warhammer with attractive decoration in very good original condition; patches of moderate pitting on the lower half of the shaft. Overall length 22 3/4” (57.8 cm), weight 35.6 ounces (1011 g).
