Description
Featuring multi-piece cast brass hilt consisting of boat-shaped guard, short double recurved quillons with shell finials, small pas d’ane, and integral knuckle guard screwed to the ovoid pommel; each decorated with shell motif in Neoclassical style. Brass grip decorated ensuite. Hollow-ground 32 3/8” (82.2 cm) blade of triangulate section, finely engraved at the forte. Leather blade washer. Very good plus cleaned condition, the blade with sharp and clear engraving and small areas of light pitting. No scabbard. Overall length 38” (96.5 cm). Attractive gentleman’s weapon of the period of the American Revolution.
