Featuring angled axe head with slightly concave cutting edge and cross-shaped piercing; curved rear beak with notched edges and pierced with a cross; 12” diamond-section thrusting spike. Four long langets with ferrule (zwinge in German) and mounted on later rectangular oak shaft. Metal showing lamination, with dark gunmetal patina and scattered light to moderate pitting.
