Description
Steel hilt, featuring pas d’ ane reverse quillon, assymetrical shell guard, and knuckle bow
joining the spherical pommel; all finely pierced and chiseled with scrolling foliage. Grip
wrapped with several sizes of twisted steel and copper wire and finished with copper Turks
heads top and bottom. Hollow-ground 32″ blade of tringular section, finely etched and
engraved with panels of scrolling foliage; French inscription and Paris maker’s address in
script. Exceptional quality and fine condition, the blade with light pitting and age staining.
Overall length 38 3/4″ (98.4 cm).
