Description

A.C. Harrington was known for making Percussion rifles from 1863-1895 in Armada,
Vassar, Lapeer & St. Louis Michigan. This example feature round .41 caliber 39″ barrels,
the top numbered “2”, the bottom “1”. Dovetailed bead front sight & notch rear sight. Right
side “mule ear” lock stamped “A. HARRINGTON”. Straight grip walnut stock with brass
triggerguard, circular patch box, toeplate & crescent buttplate. Left side with raised
cheekpiece and brass squirrel inlay. Barrels have good brown finish, showing areas of
faded finish, & scattered marks; heavy pitting around nipples. Base ramrod pipe has hole
near base around action. Wood has good varnish finish with scattered dings & marks; small
crack extending from patch box to buttplate. Dark pitted bores. Lock functions normally;
both cocks can be pulled back and fired together, or operated individually. Former Norm
