Description
Impressive pair of large model field cannons featuring 28″ long solid bronze barrels of
35mm bore with dolphin-shaped lifting handles, raised coat of arms on breech, and raised
ribbon bearing the date “1671″. Acorn-shaped cascabels. Original hand-crafted wood
field carriages with 10-spoke wooden wheels banded with bronze strips and fastened with
bronze-head iron nails; mounted on wood and steel axles. Bronze carriage fittings. Very
attractive old pair of model cannons, but likely not of the date cast into the barrels. Overall
length 41″, height 14 ½”, barrel weight 26 pounds each. Great addition to the den or man
cave.
