Description
Triangular hand guard beautifully chiseled and pierced with acanthus design in the Brescian manner. Ten inch cross guard chiseled in spiral design; beautiful oval shaped pommel chiseled in relief with a central band, having the same design as on the guard. Spiral fluted wooden handle with original leather covering. Indentations in the leather showing that at one time it was wire wrapped. Deluxe blade with a very wide engraved ricasso with serrated edges and blade notches at the end to entrap an opponent’s blade; oval thumb groove for better grip when fighting. Blade engraved overall on both sides (worn) with floral designs and an indistinguishable name. Minor to medium putting overall. Overall length, 24-1/4″. Blade length, 19-1/8″. Very fine quality.
