Description
Made from an empty British brass 18 pounder shell casing. The base profusely stamped
with lot numbers, inspection stamps and “18 PR/II” and the date “1917″. The decoration
hand engraved by a German soldier featuring a lion holding a flag topped with the words
“Gedenkenis uit Belgis” (Commemorative of Belgium) with “1914-1918″ beneath and
engraved borders at the top and bottom. Intact fired primer. Very dark age patina to the
brass. Overall height 11 5/8″. Price includes domestic US shipping.
