French WWI Trench Art Vase, “ARGONNE”

Description

Made from an empty French brass 75 mm shell casing, this piece is decorated with with
raised embossed “SOUVENIR/POUR/LOUISE K CHENEY/ARGONNE on stippled
background with large embossed flower on the reverse. Attractively textured border at the
top with slightly flared lip. The base of the shell stamped “75 DEC/MAI^186L^17^ BO”.
Dark even patina to the brass; intact fired primer. Overall height 10 1/8″. Price includes
