Description
Made by E. Robinson of tarred canvas with leather strapwork, brass fittings, and steel
buckles. Several small straps have become separated due to age and over 150 years of
storage, otherwise excellent unissued condition, retaining nearly all of its original tarred
coating. No markings found. Equipment such as this is far more scarce than firearms and
swords from this period, as they wore out or were discarded whereas the weapons were
usually kept and passed on.
