Description
Uukwambi is a traditional kingdom of the Ovambo people in what is today northern
Namibia. This style axe is unique to that region and they are quite scarce. This example
features a one-piece hardwood handle which has a natural 90 degree bend to form the
hammer head, which is painted black. The opposite side is fitted with a thin angled axe
blade with 2 1/4″ cutting edge. A light-weight versatile tool which can also be used as a
weapon. Length 14 1/4″.
