Description
Large hand forged center-hung axe head with 13 1/2″ convex cutting edge, beveled on both sides. Integrally forged rectangular ferrule, mounted on 38″ worm-eaten hardwood handle (old but probably not original), with attached wood butt cap carved in the shape of a bone. Metal with scattered pitting and dark patina. Length of head 21″ including ferrule. Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the British dealer who the consignor originally obtained it from. Block and other items pictured not included.
