Description
Featuring earlier 32 7/8″ (83.5 cm) blade of flattened diamond section incised “IN
SOLINGEN” in the short central fullers and with an “S” stamp at the end of the fuller on
either side. Shallow bowl guard of “boat hilt” style, engraved with scrolling foliage and a
castle facing a casque; recurved quillons with mythical beast head terminals. Foliate
decorated quillon block and D-shaped knuckle guard; ovoid pommel decorated with a small
manor house in a landscape on either side; foliate engraved silver grip. Partial silver marks
on the knuckle guard. Very good condition, the blade with a few small patches of light to
moderate pitting. Overall length 39″ (99 cm).
