Description
Steel guard featuring spirally chiseled horizontally recurved quillons with button finials
chiseled with acanthus; side ring chiseled ensuite. Ovoid pommel with button, chiseled with
classical acanthus leaves on stippled background. Spirally grooved grip with twisted iron
wire wrap and finished with Turks heads top and bottom. Unmarked 11 3/8″ double-edged
blade of flattened diamond-section, with 8 ½” central fuller and triple-fullered ricasso. Blade
shows strong forging pattern. Very good plus condition, with some light pitting on the blade.
Very good quality. Overall length 16 1/2″.
