German Hunting Knife, Dagger, 19th C

Description

Hilt with recurved brass guard with stag hoof quillons and down-turned brass shell (some
movement in the brass pieces). Stag horn grip with three oval brass appliques, brass base
ferrule and brass capstan pommel with button. Very sharp thick broad single-edged blade
with clipped point and silver inlaid design on ricasso. Thick brown leather scabbard with
brass throat, drag, and frog button; leather belt frog with retaining strap. Heavy duty knife
made for serious field use. Overall length 14″.
