Description
Iron hilt featuring straight quillons with flower head finials with riveted bosses; single side
ring with central boss decorated ensuite, down-curved bar extending from the back side of
the quillon block and knuckle bow decorated ensuite. Stag horn slab grips secured by five
large riveted bosses and long iron base ferrule. Straight, single-edged 26 1/4″ (66.7 cm)
blade with two shallow fullers near the back edge, stamped with eyelash marks and a
maker’s mark on the reverse. Shows great age, the metal showing wear and scattered
pitting with dark gray gunmetal patina; blade shows lamination, the tip rounded. No
scabbard. Overall length 31 1/4″ (79.4 cm).
