Description
Cast and chased brass hilt retaining approximately 70% of its original gilding; featuring
single down-turned shell guard and knuckle bow with integral reverse quillon; the
knuckle bow attached to the pommel. Raised shell motif in the decoration and sleeping
dogs on the pommel. Lovely rich brown two-piece horn grip; original thick felt blade
washer. Slightly curved 23″ single-edged blade with broad full-length fuller and 6″ false
edge; remains of engraved design (lightly pitted). Quality sword, showing age and use.
The blade has been sharpened. Overall length 28 ½”.
