Description
Blackened iron hilt of diamond-section bars, featuring downward-curving quillions with
triple scroll finials. Double side rings, each filled with a scrolled fleur-de-lys. Two-stage
leather-wrapped grip with three central balls and large globular pommel with button. Hilt
retains nearly all of its original blackening. Broad double-edged 48 ½” hexagonal-
section blade with long flat ricasso featuring down-curved side lugs; stamped on one
side below the lugs with a maker’s mark of a fleur-de-lys in a shield. Very good
condition; overall length 66″.
