Description
Featuring tapering 34 ½” hollow-ground triangular-section blade with gilt decoration at the
forte. Cast hilt (possibly silver) with down-turned reverse quillon with lion head finial, pas
d’ane attached to the asymmetrical shell guard, pierced and decorated with foliage and
classical figures. Knucklebow with central oval decoration in relief connected to the
spherical pommel, pierced and decorated with a lion face in relief each side; original
vertically ribbed grip with twisted iron wire wrap and Turks heads top and bottom. Overall
length 41 3/8″. Very good plus condition and looks much better in person than in photos
where it appears there is more wear than there actually is. Blade lightly pitted.
