Description
Made of three decorative brass plates depicting foliage and stands of arms, soldered
together with rounded hinged lid featuring decorative crest. The back is of nickel silver with
riveted copper belt loop. Dimensions: 5″ high by 4 1/4″ wide by 1 3/8″ deep. Very
decorative cartridge box unique to the Balkan region. Similar example illustrated in
“Islamic Weapons, Maghrib to Mughul” by Anthony Tirri, p. 172, Fig.119E.
