Description
Hilt with short turned quillons with large button finials, the rectangular quillon block
deeply engraved with geometric decoration. Tapering spirally fluted horn grip (chipped)
with large iron ferrule at the base and iron pommel cap in the form of a flower petal..
Broad 22″ blade with long central fuller, engraved on both sides with foliage and on one
side with the words “SOLIDEO GLORIA” surmounted with a man and woman in
full-length period costume. Metal parts with light pitting and wear to parts of the blade
engraving. Blade retains a sharp edge. Overall length 27 ½”.
