Description
Well-balanced fighting axe featuring 5 1/4″ (measured across the flat) convex axe blade
with birds head shaped lugs at the rear and silver damascened foliate decor on both sides
(worn with some corrosion). Solid steel round shaft with silver damascened central panel
and pyramid-section spike on the end (tip with small curve); cube-shaped junction where
axe blade and spike meet, damascened in silver and bearing a brass three-dimensional
elephant on the back side. Two-handed 8″ long spiral brass grip. Overall length 23 7/8″,
showing age and use with patches of rust on the steel parts.
